Commercial Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Control Course scheduled for November 16

Pre-register before November 9 for the Fall Continuing Education Commercial Pesticide Applicator Course

Washington – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Washington County will host a Continuing Education Course (CIC) in Commercial Pest Management of Weeds, Insects, and Plant Diseases for Commercial Pesticide Applicators on Wednesday November 16, 2022. The program, provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP), is available at offices in Iowa.

The local attendance site is Washington County Extension Building. Pre-registration may be required and visits without an appointment on the day of the program will only be admitted if the room allows it. The course runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $35 by November 9 and $45 after November 9. The course will provide continuing education credits to certified commercial pesticide applicators in categories 1A, 1B and 1C. Topics covered will include pesticide use and the environment, pesticide labels and understanding, including restricted entry interval and pre-harvest interval, and pest management topics.

Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered through this program. Interested participants should bring their CCA number.
